What inspired me to get involved?
I started as a volunteer at the annual Chinese New Year banquet, the senior’s visitation and Sien Lok Park barbeque and really enjoyed the festivities of the special Chinese celebration, the interaction with wonderful people of all ages who are passionate about the Chinese heritage and culture. At the park barbeque, Philip Slen, former Sien Lok Treasurer and Kevin Wong, Sien Lok director invited me to join the board and I have not regretted it at all! It’s been a fun ride, as Treasurer for Sien Lok and the community.
What are the benefits to being involved?
Some of the benefits are meeting new friends, contributing to our community and preserving and celebrating our heritage.
What do I bring to the table?
I hope that my business skills will help Sien Lok continue its success into the future in pursuit of its mission of cultural preservation and promotion in the community.

What inspired you to get involved?
I began my love of Sien Lok through family connections, namely my uncle Leo Wong, who was a long-standing Director and Past President of Sien Lok. Whether because of my enjoyment of Sien Lok’s Chinese New Year Banquets or various community activities including lobbying for Sien Lok Park. Sien Lok needed/needs help in what it does.

What are the benefits to being involved?
I can sum up my experience simply: I have an amazing amount of fun doing good.
